Sustainable Production Centre for Cloth and Paper Bags

In April 2019, Hunza became Pakistan's first district to ban single-use plastic bags, supporting the "Clean and Green Pakistan" initiative. Despite initial challenges due to limited alternatives, the district launched the "Sustainable Production Centre for Cloth and Paper Bags," employing specially-abled persons and managed by KADO.

Empowerment Of SMEs Through E-commerce, Business

Implemented by KADO and HCCI with EDF funding, this project empowers SMEs in Gilgit-Baltistan by enhancing export capabilities, aiming to bring the region's unique local products to international markets.

Advancing Gender Equality through Civil Society

The AGECS project, under F4HE and funded by the Aga Khan Foundation, AKRSP, and Global Affairs Canada, promotes gender equality and addresses gender-based violence in Gilgit and Chitral. Led by KADO, it engages civil society, community leaders, policymakers, law enforcement, and media to ensure a gender-integrated approach.

Women Economic Empowerment

The WEE project, funded by the Royal Norwegian Embassy Islamabad and UN Women Pakistan, promotes social and economic empowerment for women in Gilgit. It focuses on building agency, improving access to services and skills, and ensuring safe, harassment-free workspaces for female workers and women-owned businesses.

HiMaT

The HiMaT Program by KADO empowers rural communities, focusing on women’s roles in decision-making and development. It aims to foster sustainable peace, prosperity, and well-being at all levels.

The Craft Loop: Empowering Women Through Tradition and Innovation

 The Craft Loop, a notable initiative under KADO's Cultural Development Initiatives, is dedicated to preserving the region's rich cultural heritage while fostering economic empowerment. By reviving traditional local crafts and integrating modern design elements, the project uplifts vulnerable communities and celebrates the artistry of the region.
