Empowering Women Through Tradition and Innovation

The Craft Loop, a notable initiative under KADO’s Cultural Development Initiatives, is dedicated to preserving the region’s rich cultural heritage while fostering economic empowerment. By reviving traditional local crafts and integrating modern design elements, the project uplifts vulnerable communities and celebrates the artistry of the region.

Focus Areas

The initiative specifically targets marginalized groups, including:

  • Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
  • Widows
  • Economically disadvantaged women

Empowering Through Skill Development

Currently, 27 women are actively participating in The Craft Loop, undergoing hands-on training with two professional designers. These training sessions equip participants with the skills to create innovative, high-quality products inspired by traditional crafts. By blending heritage techniques with contemporary aesthetics, the initiative not only preserves cultural identity but also introduces unique designs to new markets.

Key Objectives

  • Economic Empowerment: Provide sustainable livelihoods by equipping women with marketable skills.
  • Cultural Preservation: Safeguard traditional craftsmanship by adapting it for modern audiences.
  • Community Impact: Strengthen the socio-economic fabric of the community by supporting its most vulnerable members.

Why It Matters

The Craft Loop is more than just a skills development program; it is a movement to promote resilience, celebrate identity, and create opportunities. By empowering women and preserving local craftsmanship, the initiative makes a profound impact on individual lives and the community at large.
