Empowerment of SMEs/artisans through
E-Commerce

Achivements

KADO, in collaboration with Hunza Chamber and Commerce and Industries, won a project worth Rs 70M from the Ministry of Commerce Islamabad to work with local affiliates to improve the quality of Gilgit-Baltistan products in line with national and international quality requirements, by conducting various training for artisans and SMEs across GB in E-Commerce, Product Development, Business Development, Quality Assurance, and value chain development.

The training will culminate into a High-End E-Commerce platform where the products made by these artisans and SMEs will be marketed and sold to a larger pool of consumers. This training will help improve the quality of their existing work and ultimately the quality of life of locals especially, women and differently-abled persons in the region. The intervention further aims to enhance the business landscape of Gilgit-Baltistan by exporting some of these products to neighboring countries such as China and eventually other foreign countries across the globe.
